What we keep
Parents: mobile number, the name you choose, language. Children: first name only, school, and the home spot you place on the map yourself. Drivers: mobile number, name, van name, school, number plate and stops. During trips: the van's location and the driver's taps (when, and by whom). Your phone's notification token, to send alerts. Quick messages you send the driver ("2 minutes", "sick today"), one-run days off, and things the driver found in the van. Your get-ready and Friday alert choices stay on your phone.
What we never keep
A child's photo, phone number or gender. The parent's phone location (the parent app never asks for it). The van's location outside trips. We don't sell data and show no ads. To show rain, the apps ask Open-Meteo (a free weather service) for Karachi's weather at one fixed city-centre point; no location of yours or the van is sent.
Who sees what
Parents see only their own child, their own van, its location during trips, and their own stop; never other families' stops. Drivers see only the first names and stops of the children on their van. The Pohnch team can see it to help and to check drivers.
How long
The van's location is deleted automatically after 30 days. You can delete your account and your children's details yourself in the app (Menu, then Delete my account), or WhatsApp us and we'll delete them within 7 days.
Keeping it safe
Every table has access rules: each person can read only their own rows. Invite links are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, never the link itself. Names, numbers and links are never written to logs.
